Restored Creations offers candles, wax melts and mini melts, among other products. Calumet says it provides its total supply of candle wax for women at the business to use in creating its soy-blend candles scented with fragrance oils.
“Our candle product business not only provides financial support for our mission, but also a therapeutic outlet for women who have survived homelessness, addictions, domestic violence and brokenness,” said Restored Creations Program Manager Melissa Jones. “These women handle every aspect of this enterprise, from hand-pouring the candles to hand-making the packaging to running the website we use to sell the products. This work empowers them to learn and develop skills needed to obtain and maintain gainful employment after leaving Wheeler Mission.”
Since 2021, Calumet has been donating candle wax manufactured at its facility in Muncie.
“We are one of the larger companies in Indianapolis, and we’ve been headquartered in the city for more than 30 years,” said Calumet CEO Todd Borgmann. “We believe it’s important to give back to the community. When we found out one of our products could help local women through hard times, we didn’t hesitate to get involved.”
Calumet says it supplies more than 1,200 pounds of candle wax blend to Restored Creations each year.
