The chamber says the initiative aims to uplift regional initiatives in support of local goods and services.
The chamber says local small business owners are encouraged to take a vertical video describing how the public can now purchase their goods or services. The videos will be shared on the Indy Chamber social media channels as well as those of its partners via the hashtag #BuyIndy.
“The best thing we can do right now to help our small business community is to stay at home and abide by the recommendations of our healthcare professionals,” noted Indy Chamber President and CEO Michael Huber. “The faster we flatten the curve and stop the spread of this virus, the faster our economy can recover. The Buy Indy campaign is a way for all of us who are staying safe at home to show our support for our most creative entrepreneurs and businesses.”
The campaign follows the #INThisTogether initiative launched by Governor Eric Holcomb, Mayor Joe Hogsett, and other major organizations earlier this week. Citizens across Indiana are encouraged to stop the spread of COVID-19 through social distancing and stay-at-home directives.
