The total donation represents gifts to 119 different funds that span academic, athletic, student-life and infrastructure projects.
With nearly $14 million in unrestricted estate commitments reserved for future university priorities, the group also committed nearly $8 million to the construction of the Andre B. Lacy School of Business, which opened last summer.
Funding from the campaign will support the university’s new strategic direction of the same name, which was unveiled to the public in an event last October.
“In so many ways, our Trustees embody The Butler Way,” said Vice President for Advancement Jonathan Purvis. “We are extremely fortunate to be led by a group of individuals that is completely committed to our students and to the responsibility we have at this moment to usher Butler into its next great chapter. The financial commitment demonstrated by our Board of Trustees to the bold vision for Butler Beyond speaks volumes about their confidence in the future of Butler University and in the value of a Butler education.”
Butler Beyond: The Campaign for Butler University will conclude on May 31, 2022.
