The grain and soybean manufacturer said the effort is the company’s largest hiring initiative to date in the region.
Bunge broke ground last July on the facility, which will produce soy protein concentrates and textured soy protein concentrates for use in the production of plant-based foods. When fully operational the facility will be able to process an additional 4.5 million bushels of soybeans in addition to Bunge’s existing facility in Morristown.
The jobs being created at the new facility include hourly positions in production, material handling, packaging, warehouse operators, maintenance mechanics, engineers and quality food safety experts.
The new jobs will have a starting wage of $28 per hour, along with benefits and professional growth and development opportunities, Bunge said.
“Bunge has been an anchor in the Morristown community for 25+ years, and we are expanding our operations to continue to meet the growing demand for our products,” Vice President Brian Douville said in a news release. “We are proud to have dynamic and high performing teams creating ingredients for the fast-growing plant-based protein segment. We are looking for individuals who don’t just come here to work, they come here to grow and be part of a dynamic team.”
The new plant is expected to be operational by mid-2025.
The company currently employs about 100 people in Morristown. Bunge is encouraging anyone interested in the new positions to visit the company’s website.
