He previously served as assistant director & aquatics director at Greencastle Parks’ Robe-Ann Park. In his new role, he oversees all recreation programming; the Parks’ popular before-and after-school program, BASE; special events and venues; and summer camps. Cornelius is a graduate of Indiana State University. Mary Louise Bewley (pictured) has been named community engagement manager. She has worked in public relations for more than 20 years, much of that time as spokesperson for Indianapolis Public Schools. Bewley also worked for Decatur and Lawrence township schools before launching her own public relations firm in 2013. Travis Tranbarger will transition to assistant director for operations and development. He will ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the park system and more than 14 miles of trails that includes a popular stretch of the B&O Trail. He previously served as assistant director for the past four years and as recreation superintendent for three years. Tranbarger is a graduate of Ball State University, where he studied sports administration and business management. He previously worked at Indy Parks’ Brookside Park for four years, first as assistant park manager then moving up to park manager.
