Brennan joined the Pennsylvania-based company in 1982 and served as chief executive officer from 1996-2008. He holds degrees from Dartmouth College and the Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Cathy, have three children, all of whom are Notre Dame graduates.
Notre Dame President John Jenkins says Brennan’s "guidance and generosity have helped Notre Dame immeasurably since he joined the board in 2009."
Notebaert has been a member of Notre Dame’s board of trustees since 1997. Under his time as board chair, Notre Dame says it attracted its most diverse and academically-competitive student body ever.
