The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a more than $83 million contract to Indianapolis-based Bowen Engineering Corp. The contract calls for the construction of an underwater launch test facility at Naval Support Activity Crane division for the U.S. Navy.

The work will include a launch test pit, operational support building, warehouse building, water treatment building, mechanical and electrical building, waste staging area, electrical substation and other site improvements.

Work will be performed in Crane and is expected to be completed by August 2022.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia is the contracting activity.
