Wisconsin-based Hendricks Commercial Properties says it will break ground this summer on the 250,000-square-foot expansion that will include new office space, retail and additional parking. Phase one of the project included the development of the Bottleworks Hotel and an array of other venues, including The Garage Food Hall and a movie theater.
The project will encompass over two acres of land from Mass Ave. to 9th Street and will include two office buildings.
“We’re experiencing significant demand for office space at Bottleworks, from companies and organizations that want to adapt to the new era of workspace, providing an office experience that can’t be replicated at home,” said Gavin Thomas, vice president of development for Hendricks Commercial Properties.
Bottleworks Phase II will bring 182,000 square feet of office space, 38,000 square feet of ground floor retail and restaurant space and 260 additional parking spaces, which will double the current number of parking spaces.
A five-story building will be constructed at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and College Avenue. Indianapolis-based nonprofit Lumina Foundation previously announced it will anchor the top floor.
Hendricks says the architectural style of the new buildings will match the historical structures along the Mass Ave corridor and feature masonry, steel, and oversized warehouse windows.
Construction of Phase II will also be completed in phases with openings set in 2024 and 2025.
