Kwilinski currently serves as president and CEO of Multi-Color Corp., a label printing company headquartered in Batavia, Ohio.
Kwilinksi succeeds Tom Salmon, who in February announced plans to retire as CEO and chairman, though he will remain in an advisory capacity with the plastics manufacturer through the end of the year.
Prior to joining Multi-Color Corp., Kwilinski served as CEO of Fort Dearborn Co., a supplier of decorative labels for multiple industries. The company merged with Multi-Color Corp. in July 2021.
Stephen Sterrett, lead independent director for the Berry Global Board of Directors, said Kwilinski is the ideal person to guide the company.
Kevin is a proven leader who knows our industry well. He has spent the last 15 years serving as the CEO of companies within the packaging space and, as an Indiana native, he understands the importance of Berry Global to the State,” Sterrett said. “He has distinguished himself over the course of his career as a disciplined operator with a focus on revenue growth and cost management.”
In a news release, Kwilinski said he is excited to join the company.
“What attracted me to Berry is its ability to support customers at every stage of the product development process and deliver the most innovative solutions in the market,” he said. “The efforts that Tom and the team have made over the last several years to pivot Berry’s portfolio into higher-growth markets, including food service, health and beauty, dispensing and pharmaceuticals, have created a strong foundation for future growth, and I am eager to capitalize on the opportunities ahead.”
Additionally, Berry announced that Sterrett will succeed Salmon as chairman of the board. Sterrett retired in 2014 as chief financial officer of Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. and has served on the Berry Global board since 2015.
Both Kwilinski and Sterrett will begin their new roles on Oct. 2.
