The $232 million, 300,000-square-foot tower project will expand the number of adult acute care beds from 249 to 302.
Beacon says it will expand its intensive care unit and have larger patient rooms.
The health system says construction crews have been working for nearly a year inside the hospital, making changes to the existing structure, to create space for the new tower. Beacon says the tower is expected to result in an estimated 500 new jobs once fully operational.
The entire project is targeted for completion in late 2025 and occupancy of the new patient tower is anticipated in early 2026.
