Ball Brothers Foundation Details $3M in Grants

The combined $580,000 for the local schools will go toward what the foundation calls "innovative and digitally rich programming," which includes:
- a television broadcasting sequence at Muncie Central High School
- beefed-up honors and advanced placement courses at Muncie Central
- a learning management system for middle schools in MCS
- bilingual immersion program for elementary students in MCS
- expanding computer science curriculum at Burris
- continued develop of Burris’ innovation center
- strengthening range of extracurricular options at Burris
Foundation Chief Executive Officer Jud Fisher says "at a time when education budgets are tight, these funds will expand opportunities within Muncie’s urban core. This is part of our internal Central City Education Initiative and is designed to support what our board calls ‘margin of excellence activities’ that otherwise might not be possible."
Additional recipients for the first grant-making cycle of 2017 include:
