NSK Precision America Inc. plans to invest nearly $66 million to expand operations at its facility in Franklin and add 72 jobs by the end of 2026.
According to public documents filed with the Indiana Economic Development Corp., the global automotive bearings manufacturer said the expansion is necessary to accommodate demand and facilitate growth.
NSK Precision America and the IEDC both declined to provide more information on the project.
The company’s plant is located at 3450 Bearing Drive in Franklin. The parent company, NSK Corp., also has plants in Franklin and the Union County town of Liberty.
In May 2022, the Franklin City Council approved tax abatements for a $39 million investment in the NSK plant, according to our partners at the Daily Journal. That project was expected to create 62 jobs and retain 375 more.
The publication said the project would add robotics and automation to expand automotive and wheel bearing production.
However, it is not clear if the new expansion is related to the previous project.
Inside INdiana Business will have more information on the expansion as it becomes available.
