Open houses for laid off Southern IN workers next week

Companies with workers eligible for the TAA program can be found here. Anyone around the state can attend the open houses if eligible.
Affected workers may be eligible for free training and other employment benefits like job search assistance, according to our partners at WEHT-TV.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development will have case managers available to talk about eligibility and workers may be eligible to being work toward earning a post-secondary credential, associate degree or higher at no cost.
The events will be next week at following times:
- 2 to 6 p.m. July 12 at the Evansville Public Library Central, located at 200 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Evansville, IN 47712 in Browning Event Room A.
- 2 to 6 p.m. July 13 at the Boonville-Warrick County Public Library, located at 611 West Main Street, Boonville, IN 47601 in Room B.
A series of recent layoffs include Catalent and Cook Medical in Bloomington, Proterial Cable America in New Albany and Enjoy Life Foods near Jeffersonville. Workers from these companies are not currently eligible for TAA support.
