Arts Organizations Receive American Rescue Plan Grants

The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded seven American Rescue Plan grants to Indiana arts organizations. The funding, which totals $700,000, will be used to retain jobs, as well as fund operations and facilities, health and safety supplies, and marketing and promotional efforts.
“Our nation’s arts sector has been among the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Endowment for the Arts’ American Rescue Plan funding will help arts organizations rebuild and reopen,” said Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson, chair of the NEA. “The arts are crucial to helping America’s communities heal, unite, and inspire as well as essential to our nation’s economic recovery.”
The organizations receiving funding include:
- American Folklore Society Inc., Bloomington – $100,000
- Society for Ethnomusicology Inc, Bloomington – $50,000
- Artmix Inc., Indianapolis – $50,000
- Heartland Film Inc, Indianapolis – $150,000
- Indianapolis Jazz Foundation Inc, Indianapolis – $100,000
- Indianapolis Museum of Art (Newfields), Indianapolis – $150,000
- Partnerships for Lawrence Inc, Indianapolis – $100,000
The awards are part of the third installment of ARP funding from the NEA. Last April, the NEA announced $52 million in ARP funding to 62 state, jurisdictional, and regional arts organizations for subgranting through their respective programs. In November 2021, the NEA announced $20.2 million to 66 arts agencies for subgranting.
