A change of command ceremony will take place Friday at the Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis.
Bennett will take command from Major General David Coburn, who is retiring after 37 years of active service.
USAFMCOM handles all aspects of financial management for the U.S. Army from payroll to bill paying. The Army says the command serves as the “Army’s focal point for all FM operations while resourcing the Army through sound financial management and comptrollership, from budget formulation to auditable financial statements.”
The change of command ceremony is a tradition dating back to Roman times and displays the peaceful transfer of leadership from one commander to the next.
This is the first ceremony since USAFMCOM was realigned under the Army Materiel Command on October 1.
