The South Bend Tribune reports Chicago-based Farpoint Development/Decennial Group will invest $150 million to build an eight-story boutique hotel and a seven-story condominium high-rise.
In February, the city announced plans for an $80 million, 12-story residential-retail development called the 11th Street Central project. Plans call for the development of a new train station for the South Shore Line.
If all goes as planned, the complex will be built in the downtown area, just blocks from Lake Michigan. The site between U.S. 12 and Franklin Streets is currently vacant.
The new project would include a 324-space parking garage to serve the complex. The publication says the hotel would include a rooftop terrace and space for restaurants and cafes.
Construction should begin this fall and take two years to complete.
