News Release

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Angie's List, the national consumer reviews and local services site, is focused on raising homeowners’ expectations for their service experiences, and consumers are taking note.

The Indianapolis-headquartered company today announced its Chicago paid household membership base surpassed the 100,000 milestone last week. The Chicago market is the company's fourth largest membership base behind Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York City. More than 2.6 million households across the country have joined Angie's List.

“We're very pleased with the growth Angie’s List has experienced in the greater Chicago area,” said Angie's List founder Angie Hicks. “It further demonstrates that we’ve successfully harnessed the voice of the consumer to help homeowners make more informed hiring decisions. But we’re not done yet.”

With 19 years of building relationships among both consumers and service professionals, Angie's List is well-positioned to facilitate a transformation of the local service experience.

“We’re developing new tools, services and scheduling support to reinvent the way consumers hire and manage their service professionals,” said Hicks.

Angie's List helps facilitate happy transactions between more than 2.6 million households nationwide and its collection of highly-rated service providers in 720 categories of service, ranging from home improvement to health care. Built on a foundation of authentic reviews of local service, Angie’s List offers unique tools and support designed to improve the local service experience for both consumers and service professionals.Source: Angie's List Inc.
