The company, which maintains a significant presence in Indianapolis, says Chief Product Officer Brandon Ridenour will transition to CEO by the end of the year. He succeeds Chris Terrill, who will remain with the company in an advisor capacity.
Terrill will also step down from the ANGI Homeservices Board of Directors and Ridenour will join the board following the transition. Craig Smith, president and chief operating officer for the company, will also join the board.
"Today’s leadership change is part of a succession plan that’s been a long time in the making, and Brandon’s track record makes clear why he is the Board’s obvious pick," said Joey Levin, CEO of ANGI Homeservices parent IAC. "Brandon knows this business inside and out and has the depth of experience, ambition and vision required to drive the next phase of innovation and expansion in this category. Alongside President and COO Craig Smith, whose leadership has been instrumental in getting ANGI Homeservices to where it is today, we have a team that knows how to win."
ANGI Homeservices was formed in 2017 following the acquisition of Indianapolis-based Angie’s List by IAC in New York. Angie’s List was then merged with IAC subsidiary HomeAdvisor to create the combined company.
Terrill has served as CEO of HomeAdvisor and ANGI Homeservices for more than seven years. He says since the merger, the company has seen strong performance on all key metrics, "making this the right time for me to hand over the reins and move on to the next stage of my life. There is no one more prepared or better equipped than Brandon to lead ANGI Homeservices’ next phase of growth."
In August, Ridenour spoke with Inside INdiana Business about the company’s continued investment in Indianapolis, including a new headquarters in the city’s downtown for Angie’s List employees.
