Crews placed the final steel beam on the $200 million facility, which will house all of Andretti’s racing operations, and research and development for Andretti Technologies.
Andretti partnered on the project with the motorsports design consultants Ridge and Partners, design firm RATIO, developer Bradford Allen, and general contractor Clark Construction.
“We are so proud of the progress that has been made on our future home and we are honored to be a part of today’s topping out ceremonies,” said Michael Andretti, Chairman & CEO, Andretti Global. “It is no small feat to get to this point with a project of this magnitude and we could not have done it without our partners at Bradford Allen, Clark Construction, RATIO and Ridge. It’s been such a rewarding experience watching our new facility being built from the ground up and today is a true testament to the hard work and effort that’s been put into turning our vision into a reality.”
The facility sits on a 90-acre campus, which is set to include a fitness center, walking trails with access to Nickel Plate Trail and Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, amphitheaters, and employee gathering areas.
The project faced major setbacks last year when construction was halted due to a lawsuit. Dillon Construction Group, the original contractor of the project, filed suit against Cardinal XLII Inc. –a development firm associated with Andretti– claiming breach of contract, copyright infringement, and fraudulent transfer.
The lawsuit resulted in nearly a year of delays, but construction resumed in March of this year.
