Mortgage website Lendingtree.com has released the results of a study pointing to the best places for young families in Indiana.
It says the best place for young families in the state is the town of Huntingburg, with a population of about 6,000 in Dubois County. That community received a score of 73.2.
The outcomes are based on seven factors, including median household income, homeownership rate, number of households with children, unemployment rate, high school dropout rate and commute work. Those factors can impact a home’s affordability.
Westfield was a close second with a score of 71.9 On the other end, LendingTree.com found Gary to be the most challenging place for young Hoosier families with a score of 35.9
