(ASI) will break ground Thursday on its second expansion in as many years. The company tells Inside INdiana Business the 30,000-square-foot addition will be used for warehousing and allow for an expanded manufacturing footprint.
ASI manufactures and packages adhesives and sealants for a variety of markets. The company was acquired by Houston-based Meridian Adhesives Group in December 2021.
Three months prior to the acquisition, ASI announced a nearly $3 million expansion at its Allen County facility, with plans to add about 30 jobs by the end of 2024. A spokesperson for ASI says that expansion has been completed.
ASI currently has 80 full-time employees and 18 temporary workers. The spokesperson said while there isn’t a commitment for new jobs with the latest expansion, the company is looking to convert the temporary positions to full-time.
Construction on the new expansion is slated to be complete by the end of this year.
ASI and Nuway Construction are hosting a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The event will feature remarks from local officials, representatives from Greater Fort Wayne Inc., and others.
