On Tuesday, the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission revealed that Amazon is the company behind the project, which will add a new delivery center to the park.
Terre Haute Economic Development Corp. President Steve Witt confirmed to Inside INdiana Business that Amazon plans to invest $10.6 million in the center, which could bring up to 100 jobs. The commission approved plans for the investment at its meeting Tuesday.
The 47,000-square-foot building will be located at southwest corner of Carlisle Street and Industrial Drive. Indianapolis-based Ambrose Property Group is developing the building, which Witt said Amazon will acquire upon completion.
In January, Witt told our partners at WTWO-TV the company had planned to acquire about 28 acres in the industrial park.
“What we like about this project isn’t so much the project itself, but what the project will bring to the community and the surrounding area,” Witt said.
The facility will be part of Amazon’s Last Mile Delivery Program, serving customers within one hour of the building.
