(LGMG) will use Allison’s transmissions in the Chinese company’s wide body mining dump trucks.
The latest collaboration between the two companies marks the first time that Allison has integrated a fully automatic transmission into the 136T truck, which has a load capacity of 90 tons.
“Allison has never let us down. In terms of technological maturity and cost of ownership, Allison transmissions feature low failure rates, exceptional durability, cutting-edge performance and reliable quality,” Bingjian Zhao, vice sales director of overseas business at LGMG, said in a news release. “LGMG mining trucks equipped with Allison transmissions can operate longer and more efficiently, even in the harshest working conditions, making them highly sought after among our mining customers.”
Terms of the new partnership were undisclosed.
The 136T crossover vehicle has been fielded for trials in Chile, China, Indonesia and Vietnam, the news release said. The vehicle will utilize Allison’s 6625 WBD transmission.
“Allison transmissions meet the stringent requirements of leading mining truck manufacturers due to their ability to increase maneuverability and deliver superior driving performance on difficult terrain while maximizing vehicle uptime and lowering maintenance costs,” said Kartik Ramanan, an executive director with Allison’s global off-highway division.
