Deliveries will begin this month and continue through December 2024.
Allison said it will assimilate new content with existing hardware to create a zero-mileage transmission. The effort will support the Abrams System Enhancement Package version 3 tanks.
“Allison is proud to be part of the world’s premier main battle tank supporting the U.S. Army and our close partners,” said Dana Pittard, Vice President for Defense Programs at Allison Transmission, in a news release. “We look forward to continued support of these customers in the decades to come.”
The company said the contract builds on a longstanding relationship with the U.S. army.
