Alliance Steel to Cut Ribbon on New Gary HQ

Subscribe NowOfficials in Gary will Thursday mark the opening of a new headquarters and production facility for a manufacturer previously based in Illinois. Alliance Steel announced plans in late 2018 to invest $20 million to relocate to the Lake County city and create up to 130 jobs.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the flat-rolled steel supply and coil processing company has already hired 90 employees toward its goal.
When the project was first announced, Alliance Steel Chief Executive Officer Andy Gross said the decision to relocate to northwest Indiana because Gary was “making all the right moves to recreate a very promising industrial area.”
Governor Eric Holcomb and Gary Mayor Jerome Prince will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. local time.
