The award is presented to individuals who “have made significant contributions to the agriculture industry and their communities.”
This year’s awards were presented at the Indiana State Fair to Beth Archer, executive director of Danville-based AgrIInstitute, and Indiana State Fair Executive Director Cindy Hoye.
“Indiana agriculture continues to grow and is driven by the remarkable contributions of visionary Hoosiers, like Cindy Hoye and Beth Archer,” Crouch said in a news release. “With their exceptional leadership and knowledge, the State of Indiana continues to prove itself as a leading force in the agricultural sector.”
Archer has led AgrIInstitute since 1992. The organization prepares leaders to advance agriculture and serve the industry’s related communities, the ISDA said.
AgrIInstitute manages the Indiana Agriculture Leadership Program, which is overseen by Archer.
Cindy Hoye began her tenure at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 1988 as marketing director. She was appointed executive director in 2004 by then-Gov. Mitch Daniels.
During her time at the fairgrounds, Hoye has overseen major projects, including the $63 million renovation of the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, and most recently, the $50 million Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.
“Hoosier agriculture is thriving because of leaders like Cindy and Beth,” said Don Lamb, director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. “We are thankful for their commitment to advancing agriculture in the Hoosier state. It is an honor to present these outstanding individuals with this well-deserved recognition.”
