That is one reason why the organization has developed a job board.
It hopes to connect job seekers, including soon-to-be college graduates, with the available positions. The job board is also intended to help employers reach the necessary talent.
“Agbioscience and Indiana just continue to see great innovation and continuous growth,” said Melissa Rekeweg, senior director of talent for AgriNovus. “And it’s not only open positions but it diverse positions that may be the industry didn’t see 10-15 years ago.”
Rekeweg says the search board includes core industry jobs, like agronomists and veterinarians. It also includes allied jobs that career seekers would not necessarily associate with ag.
“They can go to any sector, any industry. That may be IT-focused, it could be business, accounting, HR, robotics,” said Rekeweg during the Ag+Bio+Science podcast with Gerry Dick.
Rekeweg says those positions are in high demand, not only in Indiana’s agbioscience industry but other areas as well. That means Indiana ag is competing against other sectors for the best people.
The online tool showcases available positions ranging from early career to senior-level talent. The job board includes links to apply for jobs.
The job board is in partnership with the Indiana State Department of Agriculture and Farm Credit Mid-America. Click here to learn more about the job board.
