AES Indiana files to lower customer bills by almost $6

Subscribe NowTypical Indiana residents could see a close to 5% reduction in their electric bills if AES Indiana’s quarterly Fuel Adjustment Charge filing with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is approved.
It will be the third consecutive FAC drop for the company. For a typical customer using around 1,000 kWh, that price cut could be around $6.
The total FAC decrease from December 2022 to this September will be 25.23%.
“In the last year our customers have been significantly impacted by the volatility of the energy market,” President & CEO Kristina Lund said in a news release. “This decrease in fuel prices comes at the right time as we approach the summer months where usage tends to increase for customers.”
The new prices will go into effect for the September billing period, starting with Aug. 31 meter reads.
AES Indiana says it has the lowest residential rates of any investor-owned utility in the state. The utility did not provide a potential timeline for a ruling from the IURC.
