Muncie-based Whitinger and Co. has acquired an Indianapolis accounting and advisory firm. The deal will bring seven Haney CPA Group PC employees to Whitinger and Haney Group founder Greg Haney will serve as a consultant. Whitinger Managing Member Linn Crull says Haney and his more than 30-year-old firm have a strong reputation and successful track record.

"By combining our two highly complementary organizations and leveraging our talented teams," Crull said, "we will be better positioned to capitalize on new growth opportunities with current and future clients. We will become an even more valuable resource to a wide range of clients seeking traditional accounting services as well as an innovative mix of specialized services and business consulting acumen."

Haney’s daughters, Korine Haney Hoskins and Kelly Haney Collier, joined their father at the firm 16 years ago and have provided services including tax preparation and planning, estate, retirement and strategic planning  and accounting work. Haney calls the move the "next logical step," and says "our clients can look forward to working with a growing firm while keeping the value, local points-of-contact and exceptional client service to which they’ve become accustomed."
