Copper Trace, located at the northeast corner of 146th Street and Ditch Road, will see 40 new units added to its existing 36. Of the new residences, 27 will be standard one-bedrooms, six are large one-bedrooms and seven are planned as two-bedrooms.
New amenities include a renovated dining room, coffee bar, fitness room and new lounge and activity area. About 37,500 square feet will be added to the main campus building.
Ground was broken in late September, and completion is estimated this summer. Interior design firm Studio Three Design and renovation company Summit Construction are contracted on the project.
“This expansion will comfortably accommodate the growing needs of seniors in Westfield and surrounding communities,” CarDon President and CEO Kent Rodgers said in a news release. “It offers opportunities for seniors who want to remain self-sufficient with the assurance of assistance when needed, as well as individuals coming out of short-term rehabilitation who might benefit from assisted living care.”
The facility opened in 2015 with four neighborhoods of assisted living units. The project cost $19 million to build a 116,000-square-foot building on approximately 16 acres.
