Various community organizations in St. Joseph County and Berrien County, Michigan have received grant funding from the 1st Source Foundation. Educational children programs, many of which focus on reducing the learning gap caused by the pandemic, have received a total of $120,000.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County and Benton Harbor, St. Joseph County Public Library, Lakeshore Excellence Foundation and the Family & Children’s Center are some of the organizations receiving funding. 

“The grant from 1st Source Foundation has helped St. Joe County Public Library complete a transformational Main Library Block Project, which includes a renovated Main Library and a brand new Community Learning Center,” said Lisa O’Brien, director of development for the St. Joseph County Public Library. “With the Foundation’s support, we can offer our community reimagined spaces that meet current and future community needs. We welcome the community to enjoy these spaces at our grand opening on November 14.”
