Subscribe NowZionsville-based 120WaterAudit has been selected for a global accelerator focusing on innovative water solutions. The cloud-based water testing and services platform joins 12 other companies from five countries in the ImagineH20 program. The accelerator provides participants access to mentors to help with visibility and marketing to help launch and scale their businesses. It also connects the companies to a global network of potential customers and investors.
The startup won last year’s Rise of the Rest competition, landing a $100,000 investment from AOL co-founder Steve Case. At the time, founder and Chief Executive Officer Megan Glover says the win puts the young company on the map and is "validation that what we’re doing matters and we need to continue to do it."
Glover says the application process took about two months. A panel of 30 judges selected the participants from a pool of more than 250 applicants from around the world. ImagieH20 says, since 2009, more than 100 companies have taken part in the program. This year, the accelerator says its alumni have raised more than $140 million in collective venture funding.
During an interview with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, Glover said the accelerator gives the company "instant visibility internationally" and a seat at the table with large companies in the industry. She says 120WaterAudit will head to San Francisco in march for in-person mentoring and a pitch competition among the 13 participants.
Glover says the company, which launched in Zionsville’s zWORKS coworking space, is looking for its "forever home" in Indiana. She says it continues to grow, with plans to hire in every month of 2019.
