11 local, national charities split $375K in Do It Best grants

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Fort Wayne-based hardware company.
“It’s an honor for us to be able to contribute to the continued success of these difference makers in the places our team calls home,” Foundation President Nick Talarico said in a news release. “From arts and education, to health care assistance, counseling services, and emergency preparedness, these grants represent a wide range of initiatives to build the best future for kids and families in our communities.”
Grant recipients include:
- Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children of Waco, Texas: $5,000
- American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana: $10,000
- Arts United Center of Fort Wayne: $250,000
- Blessings in a Backpack: $10,000
- Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo: $50,000
- Mesquite Cancer Help Society of Mesquite, Nevada: $10,000
- Rising on the Ridge of Lexington, South Carolina: $800
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana: $10,800
- The SCAN Foundation: $19,838
- Science Central of Fort Wayne: $2,500
- Wellspring Interfaith Social Services, Inc. of Fort Wayne: $5,000
The next round of grants will be decided in early 2024.
