Two longstanding architecture and design companies in the Midwest have announced plans to join forces. Our partners at the Indianapolis Business Journal report Indianapolis-based Rowland Design has been acquired by Luminaut, one of Cincinnati’s largest design firms.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Rowland was founded in 1968 and will change its name to Luminaut Rowland in Indianapolis as part of the deal.
The company says it specializes in architectural renovation, new construction, and interior design.
“We’re pleased to be merging our company with one which shares our values, and which will allow us to expand our business and do even more and better work for our clients” said Rowland Design President Jill Rose.
IBJ reports Rowland’s 17 employees, including five partners, will be a part of the combined firm.
The acquisition helps Luminaut grow in the specialties of higher education, Greek housing, workplace design and historic preservation. Luminaut specializes in hospitality venues, workplace, and senior living projects.
