The nonprofit says the funding will support its Goodwill Guides career and life coaching program in Marion County.
Goodwill says the guides work with its employees at their stores, helping establish and sustain transportation, housing, and other basic needs. The program also aims to support employees to take on long-term goals in education, employment and financial literacy.
“The Guides program has changed countless lives since its launch in 2011,” said Kent Kramer, president of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana. “Unfortunately, the financial strain brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to reduce the scale of the program. With Nina’s support, we are grateful to be able to bring back coaches to our Marion County sites much sooner than we expected.”
Goodwill says the funding will serve up to 140 people and will drive workforce achievements such as new employment placements, promotions, and educational enrollments.
