Elkhart County Foundation Awards $3.5M in Grants

The grants, which were awarded between July and October, went to organizations that reflect the priorities of the foundation, including career pathways, kids and families, and placemaking.
“We are thrilled to support the good work of our nonprofits who are making our community stronger,” said Candy Yoder, Chief Program Officer. “Our committees, staff and board are working with others to help our community continue to be resilient and navigate the future.”
The Community Foundation’s assets at the end of fiscal year 2020-21 Fiscal Year totaled $418 million.
Grant Recipients include:
- Wellfield Botanical Gardens: $1,000,000
- Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau: $75,000
- Friends of the Lerner: $200,000
- Friends of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail: $75,000
- Town of Middlebury, $116,000
- Horizon Education Alliance: $150,000
- Blessed Beginnings Care Center: $62,000
- CAPS: $140,000
- Center for Community Justice: $50,000
- Goshen Public Library: $37,440
- Hubbard Hill Estates: $500,000
- Women’s Care Center: $100,000
- Horizon Education Alliance: $150,000
- Baugo Community Schools: $350,000
- enFocus: $100,000
- Youth Services Bureau of St. Joseph County: $50,000
- Elkhart Community Schools: $55,000
- Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce: $30,000
- Junior Achievement, Legacy Hall of Fame Gala Sponsor: $20,000
