Kylie Veleta – Business of Health & Special Projects Editor

Kylie Veleta joined Inside INdiana Business in 2008 as the writer and reporter for the award-winning Life Sciences INdiana e-newsletter and INdiana Connections, a specialty e-newsletter for the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics industry. The Indiana Society of Professional Journalists awarded Kylie “Best Medical/Science” reporting in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022 for her coverage of life sciences news throughout the state. 

She has previous experience in television news, working as a reporter for stations in Lexington, Kentucky, Evansville and Terre Haute. Her work earned her an Indiana Associated Press award. She has also been a freelance writer for clients including Indianapolis Woman magazine and Evansville Living magazine. Before coming to Indiana INdiana Business, she served as copywriter in the marketing/creative area at Indianapolis-based The Finish Line, Inc.

Kylie is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Ball State University. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and their three children. After living in several cities around the Midwest, she’s glad to be living and working in her hometown of Indianapolis.
