Indiana Hospitals Among ‘Most Wired’

Subscribe NowTen Indiana hospitals are included in the 2021 “Digital Health Most Wired” list from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. The list highlights hospitals that demonstrate the optimal use of information technology.
The list is determined by a survey “to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations.” CHIME says the results are intended to improve patient safety and outcomes by driving change in the healthcare IT industry.
The Indiana hospitals on the list include:
- Deaconess Health System (Evansville)
- Parkview Health (Fort Wayne)
- Community Health Network (Indianapolis)
- Community Healthcare System (Munster)
- Franciscan Health (Mishawaka)
- Henry Community Health (New Castle)
- Indiana University Health (Indianapolis)
- Hancock Regional Hospital (Greenfield)
- Reid Health (Richmond)
- Rush Memorial Hospital (Rushville)
“Healthcare always has to be on the front end of change. We cannot stay stagnant,” said Craig Kinyon, chief executive officer of Reid Health. “Information technology plays a critical role in providing excellent care for our communities, and our Information Services team, physicians, providers, and clinical leadership have done excellent work to improve our systems, resulting in a higher quality of care for our patients.”
CHIME recognizes both Acute Recognized Organizations and Ambulatory Recognized Organizations. The Indiana hospitals were included on both lists, except for Franciscan Health, which did not make the Ambulatory list.
