Subscribe NowA logistics company that already operates three facilities in central Indiana has announced plans to invest $10 million to open a fourth and create up to 100 jobs by early next year. Texas-based Life Sciences Logistics says the 440,000-square-foot cold storage facility will be located in the Hendricks County town of Clayton.
The company says due to “unrelenting demand” for FDA-regulated, controlled-temperature storage, it decided to lease an existing warehouse to quickly open a new facility.
“We’ve watched the consolidation of 3rd-party logistics providers across our industry and are proud to be the last and leading independent standing in a sea of middle-market demand. Our clients are saying ‘please build it, we need more’ – and we want to be their ‘Easy’ button,” said LSL Chief Executive Officer Richard Beeny.
Beeny says pharmaceutical companies and medical device makers are getting new and current products to market so quickly, they need a growing amount of storage space, especially cold storage. He says much of the demand is pinned to COVID-19 injectable drugs that require extremely cold temperatures to preserve vaccine integrity.
LSL also has operations in Brownsburg and Whitestown. In all, It operates 12 facilities across nine states.
