Joanna Milliken has been appointed to the role after serving as head of CX marketing for Germany-based SAP (NYSE: SAP), which acquired Emarsys last year.
Milliken succeeds Ohad Hect, who is stepping down after 12 years at Emarsys, including five as CEO. Milliken previously held roles at ExactTarget until it was acquired by Salesforce, after which she served as senior vice president of product management for Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
“It has been tremendously exciting to see the evolution of marketing, how marketers used to fight for a seat at the table but are now tasked with impacting the entire customer experience,” Milliken said in a news release. “This isn’t a task, it’s a privilege and I’m super-motivated to partner with marketers on shaping their business to drive real outcomes in this critical time. That is why we at Emarsys are committed to giving power back to the marketer.”?
Emarsys has developed an onmnichannel customer engagement platform. The company says it has seen a 10% year-over-year increase in new business sales globally since the announcement of the SAP acquisition.
The company says it is currently hiring for its next phase of growth in areas such as marketing, sales and partnerships around the world, including in Indy.
Milliken will be a guest on this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick to talk more about her appointment and her vision for the company.
