Mayor Dan Ridenour says nearly 200 businesses and restaurants have been awarded over $3 million.
Ridenour says the program was designed to help businesses recover.
The restaurant and small business/tourism committees selected the grantees, with the small business committee choosing 146 itself. Ridenour says the funding will be distributed after the businesses receiving grants fill out federally required paperwork.
“Without question, 189 of them and possibly more are getting that help. I hope this will go a long way in keeping those businesses as staples in our community long into the future. The committees were volunteers who put in substantial personal time and effort into this project, and I am so thankful for their efforts to help Muncie thrive.”
