Franciscan Announces Cancer Center

Subscribe NowFranciscan Health has announced plans to invest $43 million to build a new comprehensive cancer center in Lafayette. The Mishawaka-based health system says the three-story, 68,000-square-foot center will consolidate and expand existing services into one location on the Franciscan Health Lafayette East campus.
“This new facility will be the only multidisciplinary cancer care center within our community that has everything a patient needs in one location. Cancer patients will have access to expert oncology professionals and the latest state-of-the-art technology within a convenient, healing environment,” said Terry Wilson, president and chief executive officer, Franciscan Health Western Indiana.
The Franciscan Health Foundation Board of Directors has launched a $3.2-million-dollar community campaign to raise funds for the facility.
Franciscan says the new facility will offer a wide array of cancer treatments and services, including an oncology infusion therapy center, radiation oncology, genetic testing, and a palliative care team.
The health system says it hopes to break ground this spring.
