Victory College Prep, a K-12 charter school on the city’s southeast side, received new equipment for its media center, including tablets, virtual reality headsets, and makerspace tables.
The school’s media center also receive a 75-in television and Bluetooth speaker system, as well as furniture such as height adjustable tables and chairs, soft seating and mobile bookcases.
The organizations say the media center makeovers are part of a mission to uplift teachers in grades K-12. The host committee has committed $1.5 million in legacy programming investment ahead of the 2022 CFP National Championship game, which will take place January 10 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
“Having access to cutting-edge technology and other equipment makes a remarkable difference in motivating and inspiring our students and teachers, who, like all of us, have faced challenges in light of COVID-19,” said Ryan Gall, executive director of Victory College Prep. “As we settle into the 2021 school year, being able to learn and engage in an updated media center provides a huge morale boost. We’re grateful to the CFP Foundation and Indianapolis Host Committee for their support in empowering our students with the academic and social-emotional skills to thrive in college or a career.”
The first media center makeover was unveiled in April at Southport Middle School. The remaining makeovers are set to take place at Garden City Elementary and Phalen Leadership Academy later this year.
