Pilot Communities Announced in Main Street Program
The town of Kendallville is one of two Indiana pilot communities receiving funding.

Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs say each community will receive $2 million to revitalize historic buildings in downtown districts.
OCRA Executive Director Denny Spinner says the program is a joint effort between OCRA, Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks.
“Brookville and Kendallville have such a strong community presence, which was apparent during our site visits. These communities have already put in a great amount of work for this grant and I cannot wait to see all the developments they make in their towns with the help of this grant,” said Spinner.
Main Street Brookville says the grant will allow for the establishment of the Historic Overlay District, which will target buildings on the south end of the historic district. Experience the Heart of Kendallville says grant funds will be used to revitalize buildings, make facade improvements and develop a historic and cultural trail.
Other PreservINg Main Street finalists, Attica, Jasper and Cambridge City will receive customized training and planning help from OCRA and Main Street America.
