Lutheran Health and Acadia Healthcare Co. have formed a joint venture, investing $45 million, to build a 120-bed hospital.
The health systems say the hospital will provide comprehensive inpatient treatment for adults, seniors and adolescents.
“Like many communities across America, Fort Wayne and northeastern Indiana have seen an increase in mental health and substance use issues. This facility will provide critical services our communities need,” said Mark Medley, regional president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Health Network.
Acadia operates a network of 227 behavioral healthcare facilities in 40 states. The Fort Wayne hospital is scheduled to open in spring 2022.
