Schellinger says projected economic development deals include commitments for more than 13,000 jobs and $3.8 billion in capital investment.
Among the most recent deals, including some that have yet to be announced, Alliance RV with plans to invest $33 million and add 650 jobs in Elkhart and Phoenix Financial Services, which has committed to adding 300 jobs in an expansion in Anderson.
“The average wage of Alliance RV is $42.45 and the average wage of Phoenix Financial is $38.25,” said Schellinger, who emphasizes increasing wages remains a strategic priority of the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
Schellinger talked about his decision to resign as Secretary of Commerce and some of the just-completed economic development deals on this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick.
During Schellinger’ s four-plus years as Secretary of Commerce, the IEDC set records for jobs and investment commitments.
Known as a tireless salesman for Indiana as a business destination, Schellinger made more than 60 international economic development missions to 29 countries, logging nearly 500,000 air miles during his tenure.
