Indy Awarded $37M for Housing Developments

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority has awarded nearly $37 million to the Indianapolis Continuum of Care to fund three supportive housing developments in Indianapolis. The city says the developments will create 96 new units of permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis.
The projects receiving funds include Hanna Commons, which was awarded $1,200,000 annually for 10 years and $1,000,000 in Housing Trust Funds. The development will include 50 supportive housing units for individuals experiencing homelessness.
St. Lucas Lofts was warded $1,085,000 annually for 10 years and will include 10 supportive housing units, with an additional 50 affordable housing units, for youth experiencing homelessness.
Compass on Washington Street was awarded $1,200,000 annually for 10 years and $900,000 in Housing Trust Funds. The development will include 36 supportive housing units for individuals experiencing homelessness.
“We are pleased to partner with the City of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Continuum of Care, and a wide variety of not-for-profit organizations and private developers through the Indiana Supportive Housing Institute,” said Jacob Sipe, executive director of IHCDA. “Along with the Corporation for Supportive Housing, it has been our pleasure to work alongside each team and bring these three permanent supportive housing developments from concept to reality.”
Construction on all three housing developments is scheduled to start later this year with an anticipated completion date by the end of 2022.
