The Colorado-based healthcare provider information company says the award recognizes hospitals for “superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty lines and areas.”
Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, The Heart Hospital At Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, and Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne are the only Indiana facilities to receive the award.
“Being named among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation is a tremendous honor, and a recognition of every employee who works at Deaconess,” Shawn McCoy, chief executive officer of Deaconess, said in a news release. “Our commitment to quality is our highest priority, and our physicians, nurses, and other staff are dedicated to providing excellent care for each patient, even throughout the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Both Deaconess Hospital and Parkview Regional were also recognized in multiple specialty subcategories, including vascular surgery, critical care, gastrointestinal care, general surgery and prostate surgery.
