Developers and tenants of The Junction in Logansport last week celebrated the start of construction. Chicago-based Park Development LLC says demolition of the JC Penney building at the former Logansport mall will happen in the coming days and weeks. 

Throughout the fall, the company has gutted a former Sears store, which will be converted into a Planet Fitness gym. Dunham Sports and a Dollar Tree store also part of the development.

The project also calls for the construction of a Hampton Inn on the site.

Park Development chose not to host a groundbreaking ceremony for The Junction, due to COVID-19. A group of stakeholders gathered to take photos to mark the economic development project.
