Developers have unveiled plans for a new hospital in Crown Point, a project currently estimated at $200 million.

Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Crown Point-based DVG Inc. showed preliminary site plans to the city plan commission for a new Franciscan Health hospital.

The health system owns a 150-acre plot of land at the intersection of Interstate 65 and U.S. 231.

While the plan is still in the early stages, the paper reports the new medical facility will be modeled after Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City which opened last year.

The Times says the goal is to begin site work this fall and begin construction in spring 2021.
